Who We Are            

Blanket Buddies is a non-profit, charitable organization that focuses on providing children a sense of security, love, warmth, and comfort through the gift of handmade fleece blankets.  Our blankets are hand-tied and easily created by volunteers of all ages!

Our primary focus is to provide Blanket Buddies to children who are seriously ill or hospitalized.  Our hope is to provide a rewarding, fun service opportunity for volunteers of all ages!

Blanket Buddies began in 2004 as a family and friends project.  Since then, we have had the opportunity to give over 8,000 blankets to children and people in need.  With each and every delivery, a new story emerges.  Whether we’re providing blankets to children in our foster care system or that are seriously ill or hospitalized, our hearts go out to these children and our volunteers want to find a way to help and make a difference. 

Through monetary donations, Blanket Buddies has the ability to purchase the materials to make hand-made fleece blankets.  Our blankets are so easy to make that we have an unlimited pool of volunteers.  We work with local groups and organizations coordinated through our local schools, colleges, churches and community to make and deliver our blankets.  Through our efforts, we are able to bring a smile, offer a little comfort, a little warmth and a lot of love to a child in need. We are most grateful for generous donations from individuals, companies, and organizations that care about the mission of Blanket Buddies.
